EACH is thrilled to announce the establishment of our new headspace centre in Tasmania on Hobart’s Eastern Shore!

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with EACH being one of the lead agencies. Each year, headspace nationally assists thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through headspace services in over 145 communities across Australia, including online and phone counselling services, vocational services, and a presence in schools.

About the role

Are you ready to lead impactful change in youth mental health? As the Team Leader – Intake & Brief Treatment at headspace Eastern Shore, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that young people have timely access to the mental health services they need. You will oversee and facilitate the intake process, ensuring seamless integration and operation of our centralised intake system. Your leadership will drive effective brief treatment interventions that are evidence-based and tailored to meet the unique needs of each young person and their families.

Collaboration is key — you’ll work closely with clinicians to ensure culturally appropriate care for every young person we serve, particularly emphasising social and emotional wellbeing within First Nations communities. Your efforts will extend to developing local partnerships, enhancing pathway options, and maximising collaborative care opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Intake & Brief Intervention team
  • Ensure timely access and intake of young people, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate as a senior leader within the integrated services system at headspace, coordinating site activities effectively
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting processes, including data management in compliance with privacy laws
  • Oversee clinical systems and risk management in collaboration with the Clinical Lead
  • Deliver culturally and developmentally appropriate care to young people and their families

About you

You’re a passionate leader with a robust set of qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant health field with AHPRA registration or eligibility for membership with AASW
  • Advanced clinical skills enabling effective engagement with young people and families
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling successful collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to build strong partnerships and care pathways.
  • Proficient with information systems and technology, utilising electronic clinical systems to optimize service delivery
  • Strong assessment and treatment capabilities, adeptly navigating mental health examinations and risk assessments
  • Experience in leading teams and implementing evidence-based treatment methods

Your commitment to youth mental health is evident through your extensive experience in early-stage mental health presentations and complex needs. Your background includes working with diverse communities, understanding their unique challenges and ensuring inclusive, sensitive care.
