Energy Consumers Australia is the national voice for households and small business energy consumers. We are looking for an Energy Analyst to join our team and lead data analysis and research that builds the evidence base for our advocacy. You will work across a range of projects in the energy policy space, including those focused on energy consumer sentiment, the access and economics of consumer energy resources, like rooftop solar, household storage, and electric vehicle charging, electrification and the future of gas, electricity networks, and wholesale energy markets.

You’ll be making a difference by understanding the impacts of energy policy choices on consumers to influence decision-makers and ensuring the best outcomes for everyone in Australia from the switch to net zero.
You will be joining an organisation that has unique access to all players in the energy sector, including federal and state ministers, energy regulators as well as other organisations advocating on behalf of consumers. The Energy Analyst is a pivotal position in supporting our policy work and advocating for energy consumers. You will join a small team of energy analysts that work across a portfolio of projects, bringing the analytical muscle behind our advocacy. You will be responsible for scoping and delivering the analysis to meet several of our policy priorities. You will work closely with other colleagues and external stakeholders across a range of areas in line with Energy Consumers Australia’s strategic priorities.
Your day-to-day job will include scoping analysis tasks; identifying, collecting, and analysing data; and creating presentations and reports with insightful data visualisation and clear narratives. You will manage external vendors and work collaboratively with grant recipients to help build an evidence base on key energy policy issues. You will work with key external stakeholders to promote ECA’s position on complex and sensitive issues. You are able to demonstrate good judgement and are results focused. You have a history of energy analysis and project management experience and are an expert communicator for both internal and external audiences.
