Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) is currently recruiting a volunteer Treasurer and Company Secretary. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who is interested in gaining some Board experience and knowledge of governance.

As a lived experience organisation, experience as a carer of someone with an eating disorders is highly regarded, but not essential. Significant accounting or finance experience is required for this role.

As EDFA Treasurer, you will work closely with EDFA's Executive Director and Board and liaise with the charity's stakeholders, including Federal and State Governments and donors.

EDFA is a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Ccommission (ACNC) and is incorporated as a company limited by guarantee. EDFA holds DGR status.

The Treasurer role is supported by an internal administration assistant and an external accounting firm that assists on certain month-to-month activities.

Duties include:

  • Preparation of EDFA's annual budget
  • Delivery of management accounts at monthly Board meetings
  • Assistance with budget preparation and reconciliation for various grants, including government and philanthropic
  • Employment contract reviews
  • Oversight of BAS and Workers Compensation
  • Preparation of financial statements for Annual Report
  • Lodgement of Annual Information Statement and Annual Report with ACNC
  • Board minutes
