Established in 2007 and strengthened in 2016 following the Royal Commission into Family Violence, the RFVP is a regional integration committee dedicated to the governance and implementation of statewide family violence reforms. The RFVP is committed to working together to address family violence in the Inner and Outer Eastern regions of the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing areas in Metropolitan Melbourne. Our purpose is to foster a community where family violence is prevented and responded to holistically. Through leadership, advocacy, and professional and lived expertise, we integrate and optimise local systems, enhance workforce and community capacity and advance equity and social justice.

The Eastern Metropolitan RFVP has established a reputation as an innovative, client and community centred partnership, with a highly engaged membership base and a culture of respect and collaboration. The RFVP brings together partners from organisations and sectors whose work intersects with family violence. Our membership includes representation from women’s, children’s and men’s specialist family violence services, sexual assault services, legal sector, child and family services, homelessness services, mental health services, alcohol and other drug services, Victoria Police, the Magistrates’ Court, Child Protection, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, health services, and education services. Importantly, the RFVP have lived experience advocates engaged on our governance groups and working groups.

The RFVP is auspiced by specialist family violence service FVREE, who are also a member organisation.

About the Opportunity

As the Administrative Officer within the RFVP Team you will be working closely with the Principal Strategic Advisor and the Project and Communications Coordinator, along with the partnership. We are seeking a dynamic and proactive person to join our small team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities and supporting our diverse range of partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for collaboration, and is eager to contribute to our purpose.

to succeed in this job you will need

  • Significant relevant experience in all aspects of administrative support and coordination
  • Experience and skills in project or event coordination
  • Knowledge and understanding of family violence issues, government policy and initiatives and the family violence sector
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise initiative
  • Proven ability to function both independently and within a team environment

You will need these qualifications and/or experience :

  • Relevant qualifications in business administration, communications, marketing (desirable)
  • Demonstrated high-level competency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
