It provides a range of valuable community services to those living in the Inner West who are frail aged, have dementia or a disability. Services include group based aged care, disability day programs support coordination and social support.

About the role

14-month Parental Leave Cover (Full-Time 38 hours per week – Monday to Friday)

We are seeking an experienced Day Programs Coordinator to join The Ella Centre team on a parental leave contract. This position offers an opportunity to participate in the further development of The Ella’s role within the community care sector.

This position is responsible for the program co-ordination, staff supervision and implementation of multiple day programs for young adults with mild to complex support needs attending a group-based day program.

The successful candidate will meet the below criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in social science, welfare, health or related field
  • Sound knowledge and experience with National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Experience working in day program development
  • Understanding of the needs of adults with a disability and their carers
  • Experience in person centred planning and goal setting for adults with a disability with high support needs
  • Experience in staff supervision and program co-ordination
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to community care services
  • Experience in dealing with challenging behaviours, plus implementing behaviour management plans
  • Willingness to assist working on the floor and assist with personal care tasks where required
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to develop a cohesive staff team
  • Ability to supervise multiple teams
  • Experience in participant documentation and maintaining appropriate service records and data
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Driver’s license
