about the role
The Accreditation and Professional Standards Manager is pivotal in guiding members through a seamless and supportive accreditation journey. This position ensures members have access to the essential information, tools, and resources they need to meet and maintain high professional standards. It also actively shapes the accreditation process to be efficient, accessible, and growth- oriented. By overseeing the creation and implementation of these processes, the manager fosters an environment where professional development thrives. In addition, this role is critical in managing complaints while closely collaborating with organisational governance to address and mitigate risks proactively.
Areas of Accountability
Accreditation
- Provide strategic management and advice on all issues related to the accreditation process.
- Develop, implement and manage the end-to-end accreditation operations, ensuring quality outcomes and achieving organisational objectives.
- Apply knowledge of accreditation standards to provide high-quality, specialised support and timely advice for maintaining accreditation standards and preparing accreditation paperwork.
- Lead the development and implementation of processes, reporting and governance that maintain high standards and ongoing accreditation management.
- Maintain high-quality data and records for all accreditation-related activities, including timelines, actions, and outcomes.
- Prepare monthly reports, analyse data, evaluate findings, and communicate complex ideas clearly to relevant stakeholders through insights, trends, and recommendations.
- Provide expertise for ASC requirements, including program design, policies, operations, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and quality improvements.
- Identify, monitor, report and manage risks associated with the ASC, ensuring compliance with internal processes and policies.
- Contribute to budget development, monitor approved budgets, review accreditation fees, and make recommendations to future program requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of grants, research, and prize processes related to ASC.
- Lead the implementation of new ASC projects, programs and initiatives.
Complaints
- Manage and maintain a comprehensive complaints management system, including receiving and documenting complaints in a timely and confidential manner.
- Apply appropriate policies to ensure suitable corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Coordinate with the relevant committees and the CEO to resolve complaints efficiently.
Professional Standards
- Through communication outreach initiatives, promote the adoption, implementation, and adherence to EMDRAA policies and Codes across the membership.
- Foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Support EMDRAA and the Marketing and Events Coordinator in successfully delivering the annual conference.
- Other related duties commensurate with the role as directed by the manager to support the organisation.
Key Selection Criteria
- Proven experience developing, reviewing, and implementing accreditation policies, processes, and requirements, ideally within the health and/or education sectors.
- Strong relationship management skills, fostering productive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of building and maintaining effective partnerships and overseeing stakeholder collaborative efforts.
- Advanced written communication abilities, including independently handling inquiries and producing high-quality papers, proposals, and reports with actionable recommendations.
- Exceptional organisational skills, excelling in time management, prioritisation, meeting deadlines, and consistently delivering top-tier results.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and provide insightful solutions.
- Workload levels may vary throughout the year and occasionally require extra hours outside regular working hours.
The position requires infrequent domestic travel.
Qualifications
Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
