About the Housing and Neighbourhoods Team

Our Housing and Neighbourhoods team deliver programs that Encircle implements on behalf of the Queensland Government, working in close cooperation with a range of other service providers, peer and community networks, and local governments.

In addition to managing three Neighbourhood Centres at Lawnton, Kallangur and Redcliffe, Encircle Housing and Homelessness activities have four main focus areas: Homelessness Support, Early Intervention and Prevention, Care Coordination and Service Navigation.

About this role

This is a funded contract position. We are looking for a committed human service professional, ideally with case management and outreach experience to come and join our Zillmere Brisbane North Housing Sustainment and Tenancy Team.

This funded contract position, initially available until 30 June 2025, then subject to ongoing funding availability. As the programs covers Brisbane North and Moreton Bay, this position is required to be based at Zillmere and across the three Neighbourhood Centres, in addition to other locations.

To be successful in this role you will be able to utilise a strengths-based and recovery-focused approach. You will provide support to Case Managers and assist to support individuals or family households to build capacity to be independent, self-reliant, and connected to appropriate social and community supports with a focus on addressing housing needs.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in the role you will be able to:

  • Demonstrated experience to engage and assess clients with complex, challenging and/or high need, and managing conflictual situations.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing client centred interventions, informed by inclusive, strengths-based and trauma informed practice approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders that includes government, community, private and the general community.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensibilities of all people, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and those from culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTIQA+ backgrounds and other vulnerable population groups.
  • Well-developed computer skills that include database management, collection of statistical data, preparation of reports, and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of products.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a human/community services discipline - diploma level or higher.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing support to case managers supporting those at risk of homelessness.
