- Hours: 22 hours (school term - 40 weeks per year, permanent part time), to be worked flexibly according to commitments and negotiated with the Committee of Management. The Managers role and responsibilities requires occasional weekend and evening work.

Mission

The Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day management of the Ehillsnc and its facilities, including the centre, staff and volunteers. The manager will ensure that adequate staff levels are always maintained to meet program needs. The manager, with the guidance from the Committee of Management is required to implement the strategic plan for the Ehillsnc including overseeing all operations, finance, staff, funding and service agreements.
The Manager is responsible for all programs and services including the development of new avenues of activities and internal and external relationships.
The Manager is responsible to the COM for the effective and efficient management, operations and strategic development of Ehillsnc, ensuring Ehillsnc is managed and operated in accordance with the Committee’s policy decisions and agreements with our various funding bodies. service
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Operations and Financial Management
- Develop, implement and evaluate programs, services and activities to achieve or address the committee endorsed Strategic Plan, Business Plans, and mission.
- Develop and implement strategy, plans, policies and procedures that are in line with legislation, expectations of funding bodies, and up-to-date and accessible (as well as developed, implemented and evaluated) to all staff and Committee of Management members.
- Identify and build grant program with philanthropic, government and other funding bodies.
- Ensure appropriate systems and policies are in place including financial management, general administration and information management systems.
- Ensure compliance to all statutory requirements for all programs run by or auspiced by Ehillsnc.
- Ensure effective and efficient management of all financial, physical and human resources of the Ehillsnc.
- Work with both staff and the COM in the development of the annual budget; oversee the monitoring of budgets and reporting to funding bodies
- Manage the delegations of authority and approval of all expenditure.
- Prepare submissions and acquittals for funding received from Government and other relevant funding bodies.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain and continue to build strong connections with the local community to understand and relate to their aspirations and needs.
- Develop, maintain and strengthen collaborative working relationships with City of Casey, Department of Families, Fairness and Housing and other funding bodies, external stakeholders, and media, and other organisations providing collaboration and strengthening of services within the local community.
- Partner with surrounding neighbourhood houses and other community organisations to deliver new projects, programs and services to support the needs of the Endeavour Hills community.
- Participate in and represent Ehillsnc at government, community and commerce forums and meetings with the purpose of promoting the capabilities of the house.
Leadership and Governance
- Advise, inform and assist the committee in fulfilling the governance role and functions.
- Participate in sub-committees and working parties as determined by the COM.
- Advise the COG to of any escalated issues within Ehillsnc including staffing, operations, and finance
- With the input of the COM, direct and respond to any emerging themes or issues within the community (e.g. COVID-19) and develop programs, services, policies and practices to address these changing needs within the Endeavour Hills community.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Specialist Skills and Knowledge
- Relevant qualification(s) and significant relevant experience, preferably in the community services sector. Experience in the Neighbourhood Houses sector would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience managing a community sector-based organisation including operational, financial and human resources management as well as experience in managing the full development lifecycle of new programs and services.
- Strong business development, project management and leadership skills supporting long-term organisational sustainability.
- Experience in formulating strategic and operational plans and managing budgets, including allocation of resources to effectively and efficiently achieve funding and contractual obligations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with community members, organizations, and local government.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a volunteer program that supports the aims of the organisation.
- Experience in Federal, State and local government policies, strategies and funding opportunities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft programs.
Employment Requirements:
- Employment conditional upon a satisfactory Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current, or willingness to undertake, First Aid and CPR
- Current driver's license, roadworthy vehicle and full comprehensive insurance.
