Since its inception in 1999, Wyndham Community Cultural Foundation has been a catalyst for arts and culture in Wyndham. Our journey began with a successful campaign to help fund the construction & fit-out of the Wyndham Cultural Centre, a project embraced by the local community. This led to the creation of the Cultural Community Trust Fund, now embodied in the work of Arts Assist, an organisation launched in 2018 that focuses on fulfilling our mission to activate arts and cultural inclusive initiatives across the region.
Today, we are looking for a new board member who shares our passion for fostering community engagement, artistic expression, and cultural growth in Wyndham.
As an Honorary Board Director, you will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction of WCCF. You’ll provide oversight on governance matters, help shape the Foundation’s programs and initiatives, and collaborate with other board members and office bearers to ensure the successful delivery of WCCF’s vision.
The board meets quarterly for a couple of hours to discuss governance matters, and directors are also required to contribute to Arts Assist’s activities and objectives from time to time. Your involvement will make a tangible impact on the development of arts and culture in Wyndham, fostering a sense of belonging and pride within the community.
We are seeking energetic and motivated individuals whose passion for local community arts and culture can be matched with diverse skills and experiences helpful to the governance of the foundation. We appreciate that professional skills will vary, so we have listed below some of the skills we are seeking.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the arts and cultural landscape of Wyndham, one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing regions. As an honorary board director, you’ll be part of a passionate, forward-thinking team committed to making a difference. You’ll also have the chance to develop leadership and governance skills while building relationships with like-minded professionals and community leaders.
Arts Assist plays a vital role in helping WCCF achieve its goals. The organisation is public facing and guided by an advisory panel that drives key initiatives, including:
The Arts Assist panel is chaired by a board member and works closely with the Board to bring the Foundation’s objectives to life.
We invite expressions of interest from individuals who are passionate about supporting arts and culture in Wyndham. If you are committed to making a positive impact and bringing your expertise to a dynamic and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you.
Please apply via EthicalJobs where you will be required to attach your covering letter and CV. Your covering letter should state why you are interested in the role and how your professional experience can assist the foundation in fulfilling its purpose.
