EPIC Assist is seeking an experienced marketing professional to join our small and passionate team. You will approach your work with curiosity and empathy, with our job seekers, employers, and community partners at the forefront of every piece of communication.
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Senior Marketing & Communications Officer has a diverse range of responsibilities. Working from our new Support Hub in Nundah, north of Brisbane, we are looking for a passionate and strategic marketing and communications professional to play a pivotal role in elevating EPIC’s brand across platforms. In this role you will:
- Oversee our social media strategy and guide our social media Officer in creating lead generation campaigns and engaging content.
- Be a key driver of EPIC’s content strategy across various channels, including shaping EPIC’s website
- Develop flyers, brochures and other resources for participants, employers and EPIC staff – these materials support our participants in their job search, support the effective communication of partnering with EPIC, and provide ready-made tools for our staff to share with clients and partners!
- Drive internal communications ensuring that vital information and good new stories are shared across EPIC. With teams spread across Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania, your efforts play a key role in keeping everyone connected.
- Develop strong partnerships and collaborate with third- party agencies to support the continuous improvement of EPIC’s marketing and communications strategies.
- Partner with other teams to bring exciting projects to life.
A day in the life
Every day is different! As part of a small team, you will have exposure across many activities. An example day in the life could include:
- Interview and take photos of a participant and employer in the workplace to share their success story.
- Meet with internal stakeholders to brainstorm ideas for advertising campaigns.
- Time for a break – enjoy a short stroll in the sunshine or visit the local café.
- Develop engaging content for our website.
- Plan the upcoming professional development session you will facilitate for our Social Media Officer.
What you need to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism or similar.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a marketing and communications role with demonstrated ability to work on a broad variety of projects.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Strategic thinker with a grasp of consumer needs and market trends with capability to align these with EPIC’s organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement marketing content and creative.
- Extensive experience in WordPress, web publishing and managing digital marketing campaigns.
In addition, Adobe Creative Suite experience (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere), photography skills, and/or knowledge of Accessible Communication principles and guidelines will be highly regarded.

What you’ll need to start in this role
- Current driver's license.
- Working with Children Clearance, or willing to obtain one.
- National police check.
