About Epilepsy Action Australia:

Since 1952 Epilepsy Action Australia has been there to offer help to people with epilepsy. Over the years, it has developed high level expertise and an extensive epilepsy knowledge base. Epilepsy Action Australia delivers services nationally, with a commitment to delivering equitable and consistent services to all people irrespective of where they live. The organisation provides a range of services including patient and community education, seizure management planning, emergency medication training, workshops and residential programs. They are delivered by telephone, videoconference and internet, as well as in the community. Recent years have also seen the creation of a range of online programs and resources, including courses and self-management tools for those with epilepsy and the people who care for them. Epilepsy Action Australia is highly regarded by its clients and is very well respected within the Australian medical community.

The Role:

The Trusts and Foundations Coordinator supports the growth and development of submission-based funding income at Epilepsy Action Australia. The role is responsible for coordinating prospect prioritisation, including identification of grant opportunities. Additionally, the occupant develops sophisticated stakeholder communications including grant applications, proposals and reports. Work closely with the Major Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager to be the central point of contact for our program teams in terms of grant oversight, including working with them to develop an implementation plan (with key milestones and budgets) and to monitor progress against the plan. This Is a part time role, 3 days per week with an opportunity to increase with income growth.

Core Functions:

  • Provide strong administrative, organisational and logistics skills with high attention to detail and process orientation.
  • Deliver a high proficiency in MS Office and in CRM databases used for analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of, and interest in philanthropic giving and government funding.
  • Demonstrate experience in research, preferably within a fundraising work environment.
  • Provide substantial written communication skills including an ability to create visual and written content.
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse groups and deal sensitively with people and personal information.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a high performing team including competent verbal skills

To be successful:

  • Experience in a similar role and eagerness to apply relevant skills
  • Knowledge of best practice Donor Care
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages, in particular Word and Excel
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT (preferred) or other Fundraising CRM
  • Good customer service and interpersonal and communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and pay attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion with confidential information
