Edmund Rice Centre WA (ERCWA) is one of Australia’s leading communities NFP service providers recognised by community groups, government, and other agencies in the field.

Established in 1998 to provide essential settlement services and community education activities in the northern suburbs of Perth, the Centre services have expanded more widely throughout the metropolitan area. Our focus is on people from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds, youth at risk and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing our volunteer program and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our organisation.

Please note this is a parental leave role until January 2025 for two days per week (Monday and Wednesday) and SCHADS level 3.  

Volunteer coordinator/administration Officer DUTIES:

  • Answering calls and making client bookings.
  • Supervising reception volunteers.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as data entry, managing info email account, responding to enquiries when required, and managing bookings
  • Assist HR Manager with any administration projects and systems
  • Manage all aspects of the volunteer program, including recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Conduct volunteer orientation sessions and provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers.
  • Ensure that appropriate client records and services data are maintained, including data entry
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential:

  • Excellent Computer literacy – Microsoft software and database entries
  • A strong commitment and sensitivity to working with migrants and refugees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to work autonomously and part of a team
  • Well-developed organisational skills
  • 2+ Years experience in administration or community service
  • Ability to work in high pace environment with competing priorities
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality
  • Australian Working Rights, Current WA Driver’s License, National Police clearance and Working with Children Check or ability to gain one
  • A commitment to the vision, mission and values of the Edmund Rice Centre WA

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience working with migrants and refugees in WA
  • Fluency in an emerging community language.
  • Current working knowledge of Sharepoint and CDS database
  • Commitment to the principles and ethos of the Edmund Rice Centre W
