ABOUT US:

Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Flexible Schools Ltd educates over 2,200 young people in 22 Flexible Learning Schools (12 based in Queensland and 10 other schools across Australia) and serves young people who experience complex educational, social or psychological situations which demand unique responses. They enable young people to engage in education in a supported learning environment through a methodology based on trauma informed practice, in which the principles of operation (Honesty, Respect, Participation, Safe & Legal) are embedded.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Administration Support Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations by providing essential administrative services to the Directors within the National Leadership team. This includes providing support to various function areas including safeguarding, risk and compliance, information and technology, learning and pedagogy and practice and identity. The role will require local travel and occasional interstate trips as needed. Upon successful appointment, working with children checks will be obtained in all relevant jurisdictions.

This is a continuing, full-time position, commencing as soon as negotiated.

Location: Nudgee Office, relocating to Eagle Farm by year-end.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as an Administration Officer or in a similar role
  • Excellent organisation, administration and prioritisation skills
  • Competency in arranging meetings/events
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to proofread and edit documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and create impactful presentations
  • A courteous, engaging and efficient manner, with a customer service focus
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team and autonomously
  • Effective time management, achieving deadlines and follow up of actions
  • Confidence to seek out information/ raw data on topics as requested
  • A proactive approach and high levels of initiative
  • Competency in using Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams (and in learning to use new software)
  • Understanding of, and commitment to the values of a Catholic educational system of schools in the Edmund Rice tradition.
  • A commitment to the ongoing and proactive protection and safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk of abuse
