About the role

We are looking for a passionate educator and climate change advocate. This position is responsible for development and implementation of sustainability school-based education and community programs designed around the Eurobodalla Climate Action Plan (CAP).

This position is a part time role in the Environmental Services division based at the Moruya Administration Office. Flexible work arrangements would be considered along job share opportunities for suitable candidates.

Your main duties will include:

  • Create and deliver educational programs for schools and their students designed to assist implementing the actions and targets of our CAP.
  • Implement environmental projects in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders. Undertake reporting, record-keeping, and monitoring of those project outcomes.
  • Prepare grant applications for future projects and programs.
  • Organise and participate in educational environmental activities and events with the emphasise on school and community workshops and demonstrations.
  • Provide advice/guidance to Council and the public with relation to our CAP via educational programs, media releases and publications.

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $38.55 to $47.19 gross per hour consisting of:

  • $34.89 to $42.70 base salary
  • $3.66 to $4.48 superannuation (at 10.5%)

Are you a passionate advocate for educating the community on environmental factors that are contributing to the current climate change crisis? Then this is the opportunity for you to prepare and facilitate programs that align with our CAP. Can you demonstrate the following?

  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in fields relevant to this position.
  • Proven experience in designing, developing and delivering sustainability programs for schools and the wider community.
  • Excellent communications skills with sound computer literacy.
