THE ROLE

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for making an impact? We’re looking for a Bookkeeper / Payroll Officer to join our team and support the Head of Finance with daily financial operations. This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position, offering the chance to work in a purpose-driven environment where your expertise will help transform lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance while ensuring smooth payroll processing. Your responsibilities include:

  • Accurately record and reconcile financial transactions using Xero.
  • Prepare and update financial statement and reports, including cash flow forecasts and income statements.
  • End to end payroll processing using Key Pay, including superannuation and tax payments, while assisting staff on payroll-related queries.
  • Update, reconcile and distribute management reports.
  • Assist in financial audits, compliance reporting and training staff on financial processes as needed.
  • Assist Head of Finance with other ad hoc duties when required.

To be considered for this position, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping and payroll (required).
  • Proficiency in Xero and KeyPay (required).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (desirable).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and maintain integrity.
  • Empathy for individuals from marginalised backgrounds and able to handle competing priorities.
