The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation ('BCF') is one of Sydney's largest frontline charities and has been operating for 38 years. Our mission is to provide assistance to address the cause and effect of homelessness and poverty faced by marginalised individuals. We succeed in achieving this through a combination of caring services like food provision, social welfare and education support.
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation (BCF) has been empowering children through literacy for over 20 years. Our literacy programs operate in primary schools across NSW and the Northern Territory, helping students who have fallen behind in reading to regain confidence and achieve their full potential. Using the All About Reading program and other tailored resources, we create a fun, fast-paced and supportive learning environment to bring students back up to grade level.
We’re currently seeking Literacy Instructors to join our team in 2025. The role is set to commence just before Term 1, providing ample time for training and preparation.
As a Literacy Instructor, you will deliver our evidence-based literacy program to students in Years 2–6. Working in small groups of 3–6 students, you’ll tailor your teaching to meet individual needs, helping approximately 20–30 students per school improve their reading, writing and phonics skills.
This fixed term part-time role operates 4 days per week, servicing schools in Sydney, from the Inner West to Western Sydney. Due to the locations of the schools, you must be willing and able to travel.
If you’re passionate about education and eager to make a difference, we encourage you to Apply Now. Selected candidates will join the team in time for training and preparation ahead of Term 1, 2025.
Bill Crews Charitable Trust and the Exodus Foundation are separate but closely cooperating entities. Together, they deliver services and programs under the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation brand name, working to support those in need.
All Bill Crews Foundation employees are required to have completed at least three (3) COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses approved by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status will be required prior to commencing employment.
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. The successful candidate will also need to complete a Working With Children Check and a Police Check as part of the employment process.
Applications for this role will take you to the employer’s site.
