Family Contact Service, a Child Safe Practice organisation, provides experienced and qualified time spent/access supervisors for supervised contact. Partnering with multiple Community Service Organisations, Community Staffing Australia offers robust support to the communities we serve.

We are currently recruiting babysitter/child transport support workers in various regions, including (but not limited to) Werribee, Melton, Frankston, Sale, Warragul, Ballarat, Dandenong, and more. We welcome applicants from all around Victoria.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence (P2)
  • National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employment)
  • Ability to navigate GPS apps and systems
  • Reliable and roadworthy vehicle
  • Full Comprehensive Car Insurance

Key Duties:

  • Transporting children to appointments, including school, family contact, respite, and home-based care
  • Assisting children with daily activities such as meal preparation, morning routines, and community activities
  • Documenting progress notes and reporting any relevant concerns during support engagements
  • Communicating effectively with other professionals involved in the child’s care, including family members, foster carers, case managers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders
  • Providing emotional support and companionship

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience supporting, engaging, and supervising children
  • Empathy, compassion, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to provide stability for a young person
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and respect individuals' privacy
  • Ability to provide support (up to 1-hour drive) from the place of residence
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attentiveness to surrounding environments to ensure the safety of oneself and those in support
  • Ability to de-escalate heightened behaviour in those who have experienced trauma calmly and appropriately
  • Respect for diversity and maintaining a professional environment
