Job Purpose
The Business Development Executive contributes to the organisation by (1) meeting, virtually and physically with customers for product trainings and relationship building; (2) representing the company and its products at symposia, conferences and tradeshows.
The position requires strong attention to detail, on-time follow-up and follow-through with customer and opportunity management.
Duties and responsibilities
Business Development Executive duties include but are not limited to:
- Creates and implements strategic sales account plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
- Builds and maintains good relationships with customers through regular phone contact, e-mails or personal contacts to generate revenue and support customer accounts.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Work closely with colleagues and management to develop and implement strategies based on market conditions and company objectives.
- Travel to and represent the company at trade association meetings to promote products, build relationships and conduct training workshops.
- Identify business leads with existing and potential customers through continuous interaction across the environmental community.
- Through active probing and listening, conduct discovery sessions with qualified leads to identify client needs and determine the appropriate product solution(s).
- Pipeline management and territory planning using corporate CRM.
- Relatability with customer audience such Biologists, Ecologists, Land Managers,
Researchers and Scientists
- In addition to the above, other projects may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in field sales experience essential.
- The candidate must be proactive and self-motivated to work independently and show consistent professionalism and good judgement.
- The position requires regular travel predominantly within Australia and New Zealand with the ability to work full-time in Australia. Faunatech cannot undertake via sponsorships. A full Australian driver’s license is required.

Knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in use of bat detectors, wildlife audio recorders and sonograms preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft, Google Suite, Zoom and other IT tools.
- Understanding/experience of going to conferences, tradeshows etc is preferred.
- Basic understanding about Faunatech products (full training given).
- Appreciation of the strategic importance to the business of relationships with organisations and individuals.
- Experience with CRM, preferably HubSpot or NetSuite.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in the zoological and/or environmental sciences.
Working conditions
Work is on-site at Rydalmere, NSW performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
