ABOUT YOU

You will have a genuine interest in international development, and experience in supporting projects through a project life cycle. This is a fast-paced role, and you will have high attention to detail. You will be a strong writer able to take technical information and develop clear communication for external donors. You will be a people person, able to communicate clearly and effectively. Experience with Australian Government of other institutional donors is preferred. You will be supported to develop contract management skills and interest to expand skills in integrating gender equality, disability inclusion or safeguarding children or vulnerable adults is particularly welcome.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The ANCP Grant Program Officer is a member of a two-person team and is accountable for supporting the ANCP grant management and administration, donor engagement and working with country teams towards successful delivery of the ANCP Grant Agreement with the Australian Government. In line with The Foundation’s strategic framework, the team will manage the for The Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) annual grant contract which supports a portfolio of around 18 projects in approximately 20 countries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support to the ANCP Grant Program Lead to manage the ANCP project portfolio and all associated projects in all participating countries.
  • Coordinate annual ANCP reporting by liaising with the ANCP Grant Program Lead and provide ongoing grant management support
  • Increase the visibility of ANCP within The Foundation, as required to ensure contractual compliance, including producing and distributing the ANCP Monthly Newsletter and ensure that teams are clear and active on ANCP requirements in relation to communications and branding.
  • Support the maintenance and management of systems and processes relating to ANCP projects, partnerships and sub-grant agreements (including tracking sheets and filing systems)
  • Monitor and ensure all ANCP contractual and project implementation documentation are updated and maintained throughout the life of the project and input into portfolio level monitoring for periodic analysis.
  • Provide direct input into stakeholder communications with DFAT, in correlation with the ANCP Grant Lead.
  • In line with ANCP priorities support the Foundation’s work towards Gender Equality, Disability Inclusion, Safeguarding and/or another development sector area of interest.
  • Other tasks as requested by your manager

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Ideally at least two years previous experience working within the International Development sector
  • At least two years experience in project and grant management experience with institutional donors such as DFAT, USAID, EU etc.
  • Proficiency in writing, creation of content for differing levels of audiences
  • Understanding of donor contracts and agreements.
  • Demonstrated willingness/ability to work in cross-functional groups and ability to work collaboratively

Desirable Experience:

  • Understanding of the project management cycle including project development/design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience with ANCP grant management and administration
  • Experience/ understanding of gender and inclusion frameworks
  • Experience with Safeguarding content and frameworks
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role in a relevant field, e.g. International development or public health.
