The Fred Hollows Foundation is a secular non-profit public health organisation based in Australia, which was founded in 1992 by eminent eye surgeon Professor Fred Hollows. The Foundation focuses on strengthening eye health systems and the treatment and prevention of avoidable blindness caused by Cataract, Trachoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Refractive Error. The Foundation operates in more than 25 countries across The Pacific, South and Southeast Asia, and Africa. Over the past several years, The Foundation has begun to explore more intensely, how it can support improvements in quality of care particularly relating to cataract surgeries.

about the role

We are looking to hire a consultant to review our approach in supporting improvements in cataract surgery quality. The purpose of this review is to determine the extent to which The Fred Hollows Foundation’s proposed strategic roadmap to address the challenge of cataract surgical quality is aligned to best practice, given the settings we work, the nature of our implementing partners, and our relationship to care delivery. We are seeking an assessment of our approach and recommendations for the improvement of our theory of change, desired results, and roadmap of activities.

The estimated duration of this review will be 15 working days. The key audiences for the review findings and recommendations are the Programs Leaderships Group, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board.
