Your strong communication skills and professional demeaner allow you to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes. You are experienced at supporting senior leaders, including diary management, preparing high-quality briefing documents and coordinating meetings. You prioritize customer service, maintaining confidentiality and discretion in all interactions. Proficient in Microsoft Office, you utilize technology to enhance productivity. Your problem-solving skills allow you to anticipate challenges and develop solutions. With experience in project management, you oversee planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful outcomes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Governance Coordinator is responsible for contributing to high-quality secretariat and governance support for The Foundation’s Board, Committees, international entities, and members. This includes end to end meeting coordination, agendas and minutes, and maintaining accurate corporate records. This role plays a critical part in fostering strong relationships with directors and stakeholders while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordination, planning and implementation of governance meetings, end to end from agenda setting to preparation and distribution of minutes (AGM; Board meetings, Entity meetings, Committee meetings)
  • Providing administrative support to the Global Chair and Deputy Chairs, including diary management, travel arrangements
  • Co-ordination, planning and implementation of key governance initiatives / projects as requested by the Director of Legal Governance Risk & Compliance or Governance Manager.
  • Contribute to the periodic review and continuous improvement of The Foundation’s governance systems and processes.
  • Provide Board members of The Foundation with administrative and logistical support including acting as primary support for organising travel and all associated documentation. Develop strong business relationship across The Foundation and drive shared initiatives.
  • Train others throughout the organisation on appropriate governance process as needed, for example under localization initiatives in Kenya, including matrix thematic guidance.
  • Manage and follow-up board and committee action items
  • Drive a culture of engagement and collaboration by supporting broader LGRC team with meeting coordination, Intranet maintenance, invoicing and record keeping.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Experience working in a governance support role.
  • Ideally, have worked with non-government agency, government agency, or regulatory body.
  • Availability to take part in board / committee meetings outside of typical work hours.
