We continue to carry on the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows, who believed every person had the right to quality eye care, no matter where they live. Over 30 years The Foundation has grown to work in more than 25 countries throughout Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific, as well as in Australia. We have an ambitious five-year strategic plan that aims to take us even closer to realising our vision of a world in which no person is needlessly blind, or vision impaired and Indigenous Australians exercise their right to sight and good health.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Senior Accountant is accountable for assisting to produce the consolidated statutory accounts, managing day to day operations of Global Treasury function. As well as compliance with Corporate Regulatory Requirements and producing best practice with regards to audit support for the annual Global external audit.

ABOUT YOU

You will be an experienced accountant, ideally with experience working within a multinational organisation. You will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask and switch between tasks quickly and effectively. You will have strong communication skills with cross cultural understanding and a collaborative approach. This will be coupled with strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the effective management of the division’s resources (financial, technical and operational) in order to achieve the Foundations strategic objectives.
  • Ensure end of year financial reporting, including the preparation of annual financial statements and external audits are completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Role Model to a high standard The Foundation’s policies and procedures Provide high quality customer service with specialist financial advice, analysis and technical assistance to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide high quality customer service with specialist financial advice, analysis and technical assistance to internal stakeholders with regards to fx payments, Investments, credit cards, banking facilities and Term Deposits.
  • Constructively contribute and collaborate with all colleagues for reporting purposes, domestic and international payments, KYC and regulatory reporting.
  • Keep up to date with changes to International Accounting Standards to produce compliant financial statements.
  • Manage the cash balances of the Foundation to ensure finance is always available to achieve the Foundations strategic objectives.
  • Manage deliverables required as part of our Finance Transformation project, including but not limited to, Global treasury strategy, fx benchmarking, Global credit card solution, Global audit plan, ERP replacement, and Statutory consolidation model.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • CPA or CA Qualification with minimum of 5+ years working experience in accounting roles.
  • Sound knowledge of reconciliations, consolidated financial statements and Treasury Function.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing notes and audit supports for consolidated financial statements incorporating foreign entities.
  • Demonstrated experience in using multiple financial systems and the ability to assimilate with emerging technologies/ systems.
  • Demonstrated experience of cashflow reporting and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a bank account administrator for a medium sized or large organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive public relations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with project planning.
  • Experience with Change management.
