ABOUT YOU

You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively listen, negotiate and show diplomacy. You will also have the ability and willingness to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will have excellent organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Finally, you will be innovative, analytical and able to interpret data to find solutions and drive strategy.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Supporter Relationship Specialist is accountable for the development and management of a mid-value donor program (donors giving $1,000-$10,000 annually), with a particular focus on core, this included a large group who are very direct mail responsive mid-value donors who give approx. $2M annually. The role includes strategic planning and operational delivery of the program to grow revenue and align it with The Foundation’s strategic framework.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focusing on the Core Mid-Value donors, work with the Supporter Relationship Specialist (MVD Leaders) to develop and refine the mid-value donor program to build relationships with donors that drive higher giving, retention and engagement.
  • Work with the Head of Retention to implement and refine the mid-value donor strategy and operational plan to grow revenue, improve retention and remain innovative.
  • Work with the wider Retention Team to develop and refine a multichannel approach for core mid-value donors via cultivation, appeals and stewardship activities that are personalised and result in increased donor retention, value and engagement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the recognition and impact program for core mid-value donors, developing key communication pieces that deepen relationships.
  • Collaborate with teams including Programs, Partnerships and Bequests to deliver impact reports, events, thanking, donor moves management and personalised ask strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Retention team to deliver communications for core mid-value donors that inspire increased retention, value and engagement.
  • Utilise data insights and supporter surveys to build relationships with donors and ensure approach is donor-centric.
  • Track donor communications, actions, and feedback in Raiser’s Edge.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Proven experience in a similar role or in relationship orientated fundraising.
  • Proven experience of leading a program and co-developing strategic direction.
  • Experience in developing engaging and inspirational donor communications.
  • Proven experience in interpreting data on donor/customer behaviour to inform strategy.
  • Experience working with marketing/fundraising databases.
  • Experience of working in the NGO sector.
  • Experience in co-ordinating donor direct marketing campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of Raisers Edge.
