This is a new position, offered as a 0.8FTE for a 12 month period.
By providing casework services, legal advice, referrals and secondary consults to partner organisations, the Community Outreach Lawyer will assist people in the Cities of Yarra and Darebin who otherwise have limited access to legal support due to health, social or economic systemic disadvantage or acute adverse impacts of COVID-19 through an outreach model. The position works closely and collaboratively with our clients and our community partners in providing a holistic legal service with the broader social goal of contributing to improved wellbeing / quality of life amongst people who cannot easily access legal support.
Demonstrated understanding and a strong commitment to social justice, along with high level verbal and written communication skills, are a must. We are seeking someone with proven ability to self-start, manage competing demands and work well within our team.
