fkaCS promotes the rights of all children to actively participate in high-quality early childhood education and care that recognises and values diversity and contributes to social cohesion across the community.

fkaCS advocates and supports the provision of high quality early childhood education and care including Children’s Cultural and Linguistic Rights through the provision of advocacy, consultancy and resources.

fkaCS provides on-site and online coaching, mentoring, and professional learning support to build the capacity of early childhood teachers and Victorian early years services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Program Support Officer will play a key role in the Association's success by taking responsibility for the day-to-day administration, reception and program support functions.

The officer will liaise with all team members, external suppliers and stakeholders, members and the broader children’s services sector.

This role is a 18 month contract position to cover Parental Leave.

Under limited direction, the Program Support Officer will:

  • Undertake the day-to-day administrative functions of the Association.
  • Provide administration support to service delivery functions of the organisation including the Multicultural Resource Centre, and professional support programs.
  • Liaise with service providers and contractors.
  • Coordinate Membership program.
  • Operate reception, responding to requests for information in a proactive, timely and respectful manner.
  • Contribute to data and reports to support funding applications, legislation and accountability as required.
  • Escalate queries to teams as required.
  • Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange across the organisation.
  • Other duties consistent with program and office support when required and/or requested by the leadership team from time to time

Skills required

  • Understanding of and commitment to the objectives and values of fka Children’s Services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary and efficient administrative systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a highly productive environment with time pressures and managing multiple tasks.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and an ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.
  • Ability to work under limited direction, to exercise responsibility in meeting operational deadlines.
  • Well-developed organisational skills.

Desirable

  • Formal qualifications.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Administrative, reception and office coordination or program support experience
