About the Role

Our Life Choices team is dedicated to offering Programs and Training & Support for people with a disability across Employment & Skills Development with Social Inclusion and Independence Building Pathways. With growth in our programs and clear succession planning in mind we are on the lookout for a talented individual to join our Macarthur Team. Our programs are designed to boost community engagement, participation and inclusion and deliver training for workplace support and qualifications. Some of our learning and support opportunities include:

  • School Leaver Employment Supports - individualised plans for school leavers to identify and remove barriers to sustainable employment and eventually transition students into Employment
  • Supper Club - regular social events in a fun and supportive environment
  • Learner Driver Course - providing support and theoretical training to employees, assisting in preparation to undertake the NSW Learner Driver test
  • Cooking and dining at Home - assisting participants to develop knowledge and skills in simple and nutritious cooking and dining
  • Community Participation - supports participants to unlock their potential and achieve their goals through a range of socially inclusive activities

About You

This role will suit individuals with an innovative attitude and an understanding of training and workplace development requirements. Key to your success in this role will be your capacity to identify varied learning styles for participants and implement effective program elements to overcome potential learning barriers and meet individuals NDIS goals.

As the successful applicant, you will possess the following Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role – Training & Assessment or 2 years demonstrated industry experience;
  • Good communication skills with the ability to confidently interact with anyone regardless of their role and/or social standing;
  • High level of computer skills with experience using the Microsoft suite of programs, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn systems and processes;
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Hold a Senior First Aid Certificate (or capacity and willingness to obtain the qualification), and the capacity and willingness to act as a workplace first aid officer where requested and in receipt of the relevant Flagstaff allowance;
  • Current NSW Drivers;
  • Able to provide evidence (on commencement and at mandated intervals) Covid-19 Vaccination Records

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a National Criminal History and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
