Foundation House is looking for 2 passionate Team Leaders who will each lead and manage a team of Community Capacity Building Practitioners and Community Group Work Coordinators in the delivery of regional community capacity building initiatives, based on grass roots engagement and partnership with refugee and/or asylum seeker communities.

The CCB Team Leader will have a pivotal part in building and maintaining strong relationships with Foundation House Regional Managers of Mental Health and Wellbeing Teams to enable:

  • Strong information sharing and collaboration
  • Ongoing integration of knowledge and understanding of community, and sector needs to inform Mental Health and Wellbeing initiatives and service model approaches.
  • Co-design of CCB and Mental Health and Wellbeing initiatives in response to identified needs in each area or work.
  • Place based knowledge of community and sector needs to inform organisational Practice Excellence and sector support.

We have two, ongoing 1 EFT positions available. One position is based in Sunshine, the other in Dallas.

Day to day the CCB Team Leader is primarily responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of CCB Practitioners and Community Group Work Coordinators in the delivery of regional community capacity building initiatives.
  • Overseeing the regional implementation of monitoring and evaluation of CCB initiatives informed by the principles of Community Capacity Building, Recovery Goals, and the Trauma-Informed Community Capacity Building program
  • Leading and driving the development and implementation of proactive, regional community capacity building initiatives
  • Building external regional service partnerships to support the needs of clients and communities from a refugee and/or asylum seeker background.

What you’ll need to successfully apply

  • Graduate qualification in Community Development, Social Work, or related discipline.
  • Expertise in working with culturally diverse communities or communities experiencing displacement, and complex trauma and recovery models.
  • Expertise in leading teams to manage projects of increasing complexity that respond to the needs of community groups.
  • Experience in leading community change programs to drive innovation and create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in cross-cultural communication and practice and development.
