ABOUT FOUR PAWS

FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them. Our programs and campaigns focus on stray dogs and cats, companion animals, farm animals, wild animals kept in inappropriate conditions and animals affected by disasters and conflicts. In our sanctuaries, we provide a safe home for rescued big cats, bears, orangutangs and elephants around the world.

THE ROLE

This is a rare opportunity for a passionate animal advocate and experienced fundraiser to make an impact on the lives of animals around the world.

In addition to being an empowering leader to your team, you will lead the strategic and tactical direction of FOUR PAWS Australia’s fundraising programs, with goals to diversify and sustainably grow income and achieve greater public awareness.

With the support of a global team, and guided by a strategic three-year fundraising plan, you will be responsible for fundraising channels that include regular giving, single giving, bequests & middle donors with the view to further develop philanthropic giving and community fundraising.

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

• Developing, monitoring and executing Fundraising plans.
• Monitoring industry trends, regulations and best practice fundraising strategies.
• Contributing to the delivery of FOUR PAWS global strategy.
• Directing the effective management of the fundraising portfolio.
• Guiding the creation of multi-year income and expenditure forecasts, and resource allocation.
• Securing new income streams and opportunities.
• Empowering the fundraising team to deliver on our growth strategy.
• Representing the organisation with funders and supporters.
• Developing and overseeing fundraising processes, procedures and protocols.
• Ensuring a data-driven, testing and optimisation culture is standard.

• You are passionate about animal welfare and excited to give donors the opportunity to donate to this important work.
• You have advanced data and financial literacy, and use this to make informed decisions that improve fundraising outcomes.
• You’re excited by the prospect of being a part of a global team.
• You are confident in developing a fundraising program encompassing individual giving & bequests with a view to further develop philanthropy.
• You have a growth mindset, ‘can do' approach, and ability to pass on your experience to your team.
• You can think ‘big picture’, but also translate that vision into action
• You are self-directed and proactive - equally comfortable working autonomously or as part of a team.
• You have a collaborative working style and willingness to jump in on various tasks to get the job done.

KEY Selection criteria

• Passion for animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission.
• Broad fundraising experience including multiple years at a leadership level.
• Demonstrated success leading a team to achieve fundraising outcomes.
