FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them. Our programs and campaigns focus on stray dogs and cats, companion animals, farm animals, wild animals kept in inappropriate conditions and animals affected by disasters and conflicts. In our sanctuaries, we provide a safe home for rescued big cats, bears, orangutans and elephants around the world.
As FOUR PAWS Australia’s Program Lead you will be responsible for the delivery of impactful activities to improve animal welfare. This is an exciting role for a strategic and experienced programs generalist to create positive change for animals.
Reporting into the National Director, and in collaboration with International colleagues, the Program Lead will achieve our strategic objectives for animal welfare by designing, implementing and project managing FOUR PAWS Australia's campaigns and program activities.
There is significant opportunity to make a positive impact on animal welfare in Australia and globally, and we’re looking for someone who will aim high to make this happen, and who is able to utilise a range of tactics and approaches to achieve this.
You are creative, adaptable and relationship driven.
Working as part of a small but mighty team, our ideal Program Lead is someone that is willing and able to jump into a diverse range of animal welfare program work including campaigns, lobbying, research, media and strategy. A genuine passion for and commitment to animal welfare is a must if you are to help us achieve our vision of a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding.
You will be adept at working independently as well as bringing people together and you will be comfortable networking and liaising with a variety of different stakeholders within the sector, government and global organisation.
You’ll understand that animal welfare change can be challenging, and you will have the resilience to work through divergent views so that you can advocate effectively for the outcomes that benefit animals.
Whether an experienced animal welfare generalist, or specialist looking to broaden their scope, if you are willing to jump in as needed to make sure we’re having the biggest positive impact for animals, we want to hear from you!
