Tech Assistant

4ZZZ is looking for a Tech Assistant to help maintain the internal systems of the organisation.

You will learn the infrastructure of the station, how broadcast radio comes together as well as the back of house tools used by staff and volunteers to manage the administration of the station.

Working alongside the Tech Manager you will be responsible for maintaining and developing key parts of the infrastructure.

You will be participating in developing projects, writing production and pipeline scripts and building tools as required to support ongoing projects and technology efforts.

The role would suit someone who is quick to learn and keen to get involved in a dynamic and ever-changing environment, but also requires someone with a wide technological knowledge.

Experience in the tech industry is preferred, but people with proven skills will also be considered.

4ZZZ is Queensland’s longest running FM radio station. As a not-for-profit community broadcaster, we have been reliably pumping out alternative music, news and culture since we began at the University of Queensland in 1975.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience in maintaining databases,
  • Coding experience (Our software stack uses: Javascript. PHP, python, node, postgresql, html/css)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Technical knowledge and experience with a range of technologies and applications.
  • Ability to work well in a small team as well as independently
  • Strong communication skills and values working with people
  • Basic understanding of 4ZZZ organisational structure and culture (training will be provided on department structure)
