This is a 12-month maternity relief position.

About the role

The Manager International Programme is responsible for the implementation of the Family Planning Australia's international programme, focused on improving access to quality health and education reproductive and sexual health services in the Indo-Pacific region. This is achieved through capacity building partner organisations to provide high quality family planning services including clinical services, community education, resource development, professional education, monitoring and evaluation and policy development.

The Manager is responsible for providing leadership to oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of international projects and working with the Executive and International Programme team to establish and maintain strong working relationships with project partners and other stakeholders.

Selection Criteria

Essential (Including Qualifications)

  • Tertiary degree in public health, health, education, international development or related field.
  • Experience in the successful management of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Extensive experience in planning and implementing projects including project designs, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Strong promotion/advocacy and networking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership, supervision and mentoring skills.
  • Awareness and understanding of community, regional and global development issues and their inter relationships.
  • Strong cultural competency and the ability to work in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both within a team and independently.
  • Ability to travel periodically in the Indo-Pacific region.
  • NSW Driver’s license.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience in reproductive and sexual health.
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications.
  • Understanding of international development issues in the Indo-Pacific region which may impact on the management of development programs.
  • Experience in marketing and promoting international programs.

Other requirements

  • A Criminal Record Check and a Working with Children Check are required prior to commencement in this role.
  • Vaccination/immunisation requirements apply to this role.
