Sexual Health Victoria (SHV) is the leading, for purpose, state-wide provider of sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy. Governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, we have been providing services in Victoria for over 54 years. 

Our focus is the provision of a range of services that are accessible, culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs of the diverse Victorian community. These services include clinical care as well as education and training to help build the capacity of educators and health care professionals working in the sexual and reproductive health sector.

about the role

With a stable and committed Board, SHV is seeking two Directors; one to be our future Chair and one Director. The Chair must have previous Chairing experience in a similar For Purpose or health service and we are specifically seeking experience and expertise in:

• Information and Communications Technology
• Marketing, Media and Public Relations
• Education.

Individuals who will help to enhance the diversity of the Board to better reflect the community and the priority populations we support are warmly encouraged to apply.

Candidates must demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity as well as being:

• Fully supportive of the purpose, objectives and activities of SHV
• Committed to contributing to the ongoing success of the organisation
• Able to fulfil the fiduciary duties
• Future oriented, with a sustainable For Purpose vision and foresight
• Able to provide wise, thoughtful counsel on a broad range of issues
• Financially literate.

Board members are appointed for a 3-year term with re-election for a maximum of 3 terms. Board meetings are held bi-monthly and all Directors are expected to participate in Board Committees.
