2024 is our 10th year, and we are ready to grow!

To do that well, we need to find a passionate and highly experienced leader to manage our managers, ensure what we are already doing is excellent, and a ready foundation for growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Day to Day Operations. These include oversight of our Survivor School, Cafe, Event Venue, Ethical Business Advisory services, in store and online retail, Sydney CBD catering services and our volunteer movement & survivors in Sydney and interstate.
  2. Operations and Compliance. Ensure all our current operational plans, policies and procedures are implemented and developed to provide ‘excellence’ in execution of all areas of our organisation.
  3. Financial Management. Oversee the organisations finances, setting budgets and ensuring profit and revenue growth is a priority for all departments.
  4. Program and Project Management. Oversee the management of our Survivor School programs, Social Enterprise hospitality businesses and interstate volunteer teams, ensuring they are delivered with excellence, on time, within budget and endorse our values in every area of operation.
  5. Human Resource Management. Lead and motivate a team of high achievers who are passionate about ending modern slavery. Performance management, empathetic leadership, training, recruiting and team building will ensure our values and mission are reflected in all that we do. People first is a priority.
  6. Fundraising: Oversee the management of state teams and HQ fundraising efforts, donor relations, grant applications, and corporate sponsorships.
  7. Partnerships and Collaboration: maintain partnerships with other NGO’s, agencies, and corporations to further our missions and objectives.
  8. Risk Management: identify and manage risks especially with regard to our ethical stance on not being linked to slavery, as well as reputational, operational and financial risks.
  9. Governance and Compliance: ensure The Freedom Hub operates in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and report to ensure the board and CEO is informed and supported.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent and demonstrated leadership, EQ and communication skills
  2. At least 5 years successful experience in a senior management role preferably in the non-profit, social enterprise sector or hospitality sector.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the above 9 areas of responsibility.
  4. Passion for human rights and ending slavery
  5. Strong cloud platform skills: Hubspot, Asana, Dropbox, Gsuite, Xero.
  6. Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, law, operations or administration.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
  8. Ability to work collaboratively and lead diverse teams and stakeholders
  9. Ability to fulfil a CEO role and represent company mission in the absence of the CEO.
  10. Fluency in spoken and written English with an understanding of working with people from other cultures.

This is a full-time position, onsite in Waterloo with hands on leadership of 4 team managers, 6 staff and 35 volunteers.
