The Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: Froebel Parkville is one of 5 early learning services run by the not-for-profit provider Froebel Australia. The centre has 100 places for children from 6 months to 5 years of age and is located at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI) in the Parkville biomedical precinct, predominantly offering early education and care services to the employees of WEHI and Melbourne Health. This service has been rated 'Exceeding National Quality Standard'. 

Our educational program focuses on immersive language learning (second language: German) and inquiry-based early learning by implementing the Little Scientists (https://littlescientists.org.au/) program.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Early Childhood Educator to join our Nursery Room. The role is 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day) worked Mondays to Fridays.

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Have very good communication and interpersonal skills to built and grow trusting relationships with colleagues, families and community members
  • Have a keen interest in immersive language learning and inquiry-based learning
  • Have an understanding of contemporary child safe practices
  • Last but definitely not least: have a sunny personality with a positive mindset!
