ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

Fusion is a Christian not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering quality professional support and accommodation to vulnerable and disadvantaged 15-24 yr old people who do not have safe or permanent housing.

Within our housing service, we aim to create a place that gives each young person the space and support they need to understand who they are and what they want to do as they develop their own support networks and sense of purpose.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will provide practical, culturally safe support for each young person, ensuring they have access to the resources and assistance they need to achieve their goals.

You will apply Fusions procedures and policies to help clients navigate challenging circumstances, collaborating with other team members and service providers to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering practical, culturally safe support to young people.
  • Assisting with intake and exit assessment processes, including completing required documentation and data entry.
  • Supporting clients to develop and implement individualised case and safety plans, following Fusions practices and procedures.
  • Facilitating home visits and consultations in office settings, ensuring client safety and well-being.
  • Providing referrals and advocacy to connect clients with appropriate services and resources to achieve their goals.
  • Maintaining accurate client records, adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards, and contributing to reporting requirements.
  • Supervising the Fusion households and supporting residential youth work staff.

ABOUT YOU

Requirements for Success:

With experience in the Youth Work, Community Services, or Mental Health sectors, you will bring a compassionate approach and strong organisational skills to the role. Other requirements include:

  • A Certificate IV, Diploma or higher in Social Welfare, Youth Work, or a related field, with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and child and youth safe practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • An understanding of cultural safety and the ability to work respectfully with young people, families, and communities of all cultures.
  • The ability to follow established procedures and guidelines to provide effective support.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Full C class driver license with no restrictions

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children.
