Coral reefs are unique and irreplaceable ecosystems. These living organisms are home to thousands of species of marine life and support nearly a billion people around the globe.

We are the action station for coral reefs, bringing together people and science to deliver the world’s largest coral reef program.

Pioneered by the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, the Resilient Reefs Initiative (RRI) is a global partnership bringing together local communities, Reef managers, and resilience experts to develop new solutions for adapting to the effects of climate change and local threats.RRI partners with communities and Reef management organisations across five World Heritage reef sites and provides a wide range of resources, connections, and technical expertise, all focused on building concrete, long-term solutions.
