The Senior Manager, Philanthropy Events will plan, manage and execute a range of events, including key fundraising, donor recognition and engagement events.

Reporting to the Philanthropy Group Manager, you will lead the strategic direction of The Smith Family’s event program while managing budgets and agreed targets, as well as working collaboratively to develop tailored and engaging donor journeys. This role will lead, support and mentor a national team of dedicated, energised, and passionate event specialists to execute the strategy, including managing workflows, collaborating with key stakeholders and recruiting new team members. Events will deliver not only on fundraising goals but donor recognition, engagement, advocacy and communication journeys. You will produce reports and evaluations on all aspects of events, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline or demonstrated transferable skills in a similar role.
  • 3 years’ experience leading a fundraising team to successfully deliver campaigns and events.
  • Previous experience developing strategy, event planning and budgeting.
  • Experience with fundraising tools, digital platforms and developing engaging donor journeys.
  • Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead, support and mentor a team.
  • Excellent time and project management skills to manage multiple events, campaigns and competing
    deadlines.
