Gippsland Disability Advocacy Inc – GDA is a community-based organisation that is state and federally funded to provide information, advocacy support and referral to specialist services as may be appropriate.

GDA provides outreach support to people with disabilities across the six regional Local Government Areas of Gippsland. GDA has a demonstrated commitment to the principles of access and equity, with a firm ongoing commitment to the principles of current best practise to provide high quality advocacy support to clients.

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and self-disciplined person for the following position located in Bairnsdale covering the East Gippsland Region.

The role

The position of Disability Advocate will be responsible for assisting all people with disability to resolve issues through effective individual or systemic advocacy support. A sound knowledge of the relevant disability acts/legislation, conventions including disability advocacy principles is imperative.

• Part-time position (0.6) to 30 June 2025.
• 21 hours per week
• Based in Bairnsdale
• SCHADS Award Level Four or as appropriate to qualifications and experience.
