  • Hybrid model of working from colocation, home and the Good Shepherd sites in your home state
  • SCHADS Level 5, $95,737.20 (plus super and salary packaging)  

The Financial Counsellor family violence role with FIH is responsible for undertaking specialist family violence financial counselling case work either face to face or via phone and video calls.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently monitor and amend your own schedule in response to workload demands; and in response to team workload demands.
  • Provide a high-level care and/or support for clients with a variety of complex requirements.
  • Assist in team building by participating in team activities, submissions, or responses to systemic financial issues – either specific to the service or within the Financial Counselling Network.
  • Understand and apply the techniques of conflict resolution within the work environment.  

About you

  • Minimum Diploma level qualifications in financial counselling
  • Minimum 4 years Financial Counselling experience
  • Current membership with FCVic/FCA or similar body in the state of practice
  • Up to date CPD and Professional Supervision record attendance Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to implement trauma informed approaches to practice
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in domestic and family violence and financial abuse financial counselling including risk assessment.
  • Working within the MARAM guidelines.
