Role Purpose

The Team Leader oversees Financial Counsellors and Financial Capability Workers based in Victoria West. The Team Leader ensures the delivery of high-quality financial services across Brimbank / Melton, collaborates across teams, and fosters teamwork within client services. Responsibilities include day-to-day operations, supervision, reflective practice and reporting in alignment with service agreements and organisational expectations, aiming to build a skilled and passionate professional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Financial Counselling and Capability Team to empower women, children and families, consistent with Good Shepherd’s mission, service strategic plan and relevant partner and funding agreements.
  • Provide high quality leadership to the team through promotion of open communication, teamwork and delegation.
  • Monitor and deliver all services within budget, with support of Manager Family and Financial Counselling/Capability Services.
  • Ensure professional supervision standards are practiced based on the registration requirements for Financial Counsellors. 

About you

  • Diploma of Financial Counselling and registration as per the relevant state regulations.
  • Demonstrated sound technical knowledge of financial counselling
  • Experience working in a leadership role in a community service setting delivering financial
  • counselling/capability services.
  • Ability to manage employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, and managing individual key performance indicators
