Get ready to join the fight for a greener, more peaceful world with Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP)! As an independent campaigning organisation, we creatively and peacefully shine a light on the urgent environmental challenges facing our planet. We don’t shy away from the tough issues, exposing global environmental problems, and developing solutions for a green and peaceful future.
At GPAP, we're not just a team; we're a movement. By joining us, you're not just taking a job – you're seizing an opportunity to make a real-world difference.
With this full-time, permanent position, you'll elevate your career while elevating the cause that matters most.
Founded in 1971, Greenpeace now operates as 26 independent national/regional organisations in over 55 countries, making it collectively one of the largest environmental networks on Earth.
The Finance Team operates seamlessly as a dynamic and geographically dispersed unit, boasting a diverse group of talented members spread across the vibrant landscape of Australia. As part of the wider Governance and Performance department, our team collaborates with other essential units such as Legal, Digital Operations, People and Culture, and Operations teams. As an integral part of the GPAP, we take pride in offering specialised advice, unwavering support, and strategic guidance. Our collective efforts play a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for organisational triumphs.
This role of Finance Manager has a strong emphasis on budgeting and forecasting and is responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards; internal policies and procedures; taxation and other relevant statutory obligations within and across the countries in which GPAP operates.
This role works closely with the COO in the development and implementation of GPAP’s financial strategy. You will also work closely with key personnel in order to identify the business drivers that impact revenue and expenditure. The Finance Manager also communicates the short and long term financial position of the organisation and relevant, meaningful information that helps the organisation achieve its objectives.
You will have a commercial mindset, a passion for the environment and excellent interpersonal skills. To be successful in the role you will be strategically oriented and fully across the operational detail. Being the manager of a team of six (6), you will need to be familiar with all operational facets of the finance function and at times provide direct support to the various roles within the team. You will also be confident in presenting financial information to different audiences, from all staff meetings to meetings of the board of directors.
