About The Role

We are currently hiring Growth Seat Coordinators to help organise a number of our lower house campaigns across South West WA for the upcoming Federal and State elections.

This role will be a key part of our success in these elections. It will work collaboratively with volunteers, candidates, Regional Group Campaign Management Teams, our Election Campaign Committee (ECC), and our Greens (WA) staff team to ensure the campaign meets its field goals.

The role is covered by The Greens (WA) Inc Staff Agreement 2020 (or as replaced) and is based in the South West.

Your work over the length of the campaign will include:

  • Working collaboratively with our lower house seat candidates and volunteers to help them achieve their local targets so we meet our statewide goals
  • Recruiting, training, and retaining campaign team volunteers
  • Facilitating regular support opportunities and progress check-ins with lower house candidates and campaigners
  • Facilitating access to and empowering volunteers to confidently use our digital systems.
  • Facilitating voter contact, including supporting voter and volunteer calling parties, door knocking events, and data management
  • Supporting events and local fundraising efforts
  • Ensuring campaign data is kept up to date and feeds into the continuous improvement of our campaigning
  • Reporting as required

Essential criteria

Please address the following criteria by providing examples of how you have demonstrated each point in your previous working or volunteering experience.

  • Understanding of and commitment to The Greens (WA) principles, policies and an understanding of the Western Australian political landscape.
  • Experience campaigning with a political party, advocacy organisation, or similar. You’ll have a strong understanding of how to work with people and teams in a campaign environment.
  • Experience in leading a team of staff or volunteers, including inspiring and bringing out the best in each individual team member. Experience delivering training or developing skills would be highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage people and logistics to meet tight deadlines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication skills. You’ll have demonstrated experience in strong verbal communication within a team environment and you remain upbeat.
  • Ability to multitask, create and achieve goals, meet deadlines and creatively solve problems that arise.
  • Ability to work flexible hours. This role will require regular evening and weekend work.
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up new IT systems quickly.

The following are optional but would make your application really stand out:

  • Experience delivering the following field campaign tactics; door-knocking, phone-banking and community events.
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) such as those used by the Greens (Civi, Rocket, or GVIRS).
  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
