We are looking for an enthusiastic Program Worker keen to establish mutual partnerships of collaboration and to support delivery of GROW Australia’s 6-week Wellbeing Program, Growing Resilience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Facilitation and delivery of Grow Australia’s Growing Resilience Program to community members living within the central and eastern Sydney region who are experiencing life struggles caused by psychosocial impairment.
  • Networking and liaising with community groups, mental health professionals and agencies to create opportunities for Growing Resilience program delivery and referral pathways.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Program via Communities of Practice to ensure currency and relevance to service user/community needs identified in the area.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop a broader understanding of the Grow Program and its application using Growing Resilience.
  • Contribute to the delivery of outcomes according to the NSW Branch Plan as part of the broader Organisational strategic plan.
  • Collect and evaluate pre and post implementation surveys capturing participant outcomes and satisfaction of service.
  • Capture all information required to meet minimum data standards (MDS) including database management.

ABOUT YOU

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated ability to learn further computer programs as required.
  • A Police Certificate is required following relevant legislation and Grow policy. Where applicable, additional state and federal government screening may be required including working with children checks.
  • Current Driver’s License.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Evidence of Australian citizenship or current working visa.

Highly Desirable:

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a vibrant caring team.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and carry tasks through to completion.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement.
  • Experience in the maintenance of good working relationships with other providers and funders and key stakeholder.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification and experience concerning the role. This may include tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Youth Services, or Peer Support Group Work/Community Development, and Training Certificate (Minimum Cert IV).

Experience

  • Experience in working with vulnerable people.
  • Experience in facilitating small groups.
  • Sound knowledge of personal and social issues people are facing and the impacts on their mental health.
  • Experience in Peer Support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and practice of Grow Program or willingness to acquire same.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, planning to manage and delivering services using good time management and working inside the budget.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery:

  • Networking and liaising with community groups, mental health professionals and agencies to create opportunities for Growing Resilience program delivery.
  • Assist schedule and planning for delivery of Growing Resilience programs including collaboration with other community and mental health providers.
  • Facilitation and delivery of Grow’s Growing Resilience Program in related community agencies.
  • Contribute to ongoing development of the Growing Resilience program and topics relevant to service users via regular participation in the Program’s Community of Practice.
  • Ensure activity data collected is accurate and recorded in both internal and external databases.
  • Ensure Pre-and Post Outcome and Satisfaction surveys are completed by all Program participants as per funding requirements.
  • Actively participate in Grow peer group to improve knowledge, understanding and practice of the Grow Program and its relevance to Growing Resilience.
  • Sound knowledge of community supports to support warm referrals for participants ineligible for or requiring further support following program participation.

Relationship Management / Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish links, collaborate and develop close working relationships, partnerships and networks with external key stakeholders and organisations.
  • Promote Growing Resilience Program within the eastern and central Sydney community through purposeful outreach, education programs, involvement in network groups, and participation in public events.

Resource Management:

  • Maintain the security, integrity and confidentiality of data to be stored in both an internal and external data base.
  • Collect data of high quality (i.e. complete, accurate, timely, consistent).
  • Seek and record informed consent from clients to collect their personal information.

Safety:

  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment for all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to workplace quality improvement activities.
  • Receive complaints from participants and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them.
