If you are an experienced media and communications professional and the idea of working for six months in the first half of next year sounds appealing, then we would love to hear from you. Filling in for our Media and Communications Officer, who is taking maternity leave, involves some writing, editing and project management, working in a small and highly motivated team that is passionate about its for-purpose mission.

If selected, you will:

• Amplify the activities of a foundation that delivers significant national impact.
• Conduct interviews and write stories about some remarkable Australian leaders.
• Use social media and digital tools to expand the foundation’s audience reach.

Each year the General Sir John Monash Foundation awards postgraduate scholarships to Australians to study overseas at world-leading institutions so they can return as creative, impactful leaders with global skills. John Monash Scholarships are proudly supported by governments, companies, universities, trusts, foundations and individuals, all of whom share a passion for nation-building, very much in the spirit of General Sir John Monash. Scholars are supported during and after their study by the John Monash Foundation Leadership Academy, which provides leadership development, mentoring and masterclasses.

The Media and Communications Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that:

• Stories are shared with the right audiences on the most effective platforms.
• The foundation’s website is optimised to showcase activities and champion the brand.
• Brochures, reports and other collateral are tailored and effective.

This is a great opportunity for someone who likes the idea of making a positive difference every day and has the desire to work either full time or four days a week for six months.
