ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Geelong based Property and Assets Assessor to inspect and provide condition assessments on all Haven; Home, Safe (HHS) owned and managed property assets, on a three-year cycle.

In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and providing condition assessments to accurately determine medium to long term maintenance requirements, ensuring that our properties are well-maintained and meet the needs of our clients. Our properties are located across Victoria, therefore there will be significant travel required to perform this role.

As a Property and Assets Assessor, you will play an integral role in maintaining our properties with key responsibilities including:

  • Conduct scheduled property condition inspections to accurately determine medium and long term maintenance requirements for HHS properties, ensuring all work complies with HHS policies and procedures.
  • Travel long distances to inspection sites, including some overnight stays and out-of-hours work.
  • Perform initial assessments and provide property advice, seeking advice from specialists, contractors, and tradespersons where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, with strict adherence to legislative, information security, and privacy policies.
  • Oversee the timely completion of scheduled property rectification works and provide regular progress reports.
  • Audit the quality and accuracy of completed works on-site.
  • Prepare schedules of works, proposals, and other specialised documents or presentations.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, you will have:

  • Extensive experience in tenancy and property management or a building related trade.
  • Knowledge of Asset Management systems and the Social Housing Sector.
  • Full Victorian driver’s license is essential, with the ability to travel and accommodate out-of-hours work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including tenants, contractors, tradespeople, and HHS staff.
  • High level of diplomacy, problem-solving skills, and relationship-building capacity.
  • Proven administration skills, including scheduling inspections, report writing, and managing documentation for activities, such as builder’s liability, warranty, or insurance claims.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team, in person and virtually.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements in handling client and agency information.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing work arrangements as required.
