About the role
The Accounts Payable and Bank Reconciliation Officer will work within the Finance team playing a vital role in supporting the accounts payable and receivable function as well as working closely with all departments within the organisation. The focus of the role is to ensure accurate and timely processing of all creditors and debtors in the general ledger to enable end of month to be completed.
Reporting into the Financial controller, this role will:
- Be responsible for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable invoicing and bank reconciliation processes, and for the close off in accordance with month end timeframes
- Process accounts payable invoices to appropriate cost centres, general ledger accounts and tax codes
- Maintain integrity of supplier Masterfiles in our financial system
- Reconciliation of supplier balances with the financial system balances
- Prepare relevant journals for posting into the financial system
- Perform bank reconciliations of all operational bank accounts
- Raise all accounts receivable invoices
- Prepare monthly BAS report and reconciliations
Who we're looking for
headspace is seeking a proactive, agile and highly motivated individual with:
- Tertiary qualification in finance/accounting oriented discipline in finance/accounting.
- Proven experience of 5 years or more in a similar role, either in Accounts Payable Officer, Accounts Officer or Finance Officer.
- Strong grasp of Financial Accounting Processes and having significant exposure to a medium to large organisation.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Advanced computing skills including the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other financial applications.
- Effective organisational skills and time management. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.
- Ability to cope with changes and willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a productive team member.
