About the role
The financial accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial accounting function, record keeping and the completion of month-end financial information.
Reporting to the Financial controller, this position will:
- Lead the month end process
- Manage the preparation and consolidation of month end balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare month end related journals as required
- Assist in preparing Annual Financial Statements
- Prepare the monthly BAS and annual FBT returns
- Manage chart of accounts
- Complete annual WorkCover renewal returns
- Respond to financial inquiries
Who we're looking for
headspace is seeking a proactive, agile and highly motivated individual with:
- Bachelor of Commerce or similar accounting degree
- CA/CPA qualifications, or part qualified and working towards completion
- Proven experience of 3-6 years in similar role
- Strong grasp of financial accounting, accountant standards, and the ability to understand and drill down through relevant financial reports
- Experience with financial management of entity with multiple programs, cost centres and funding sources
- Advanced skills in Excel
- Experience with running reports and enquiries
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while remaining calm under pressure
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
