ABOUT HEALTH WORKFORCE QUEENSLAND

Health Workforce Queensland is a not for profit, non-Government Rural Workforce Agency (RWA) for primary health workforce in Queensland, focused on making sure remote, rural, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities have access to highly skilled health professionals when and where they need them, now and into the future. Our Vision is to ensure an optimal health workforce to enhance the health of Queensland communities

Practice Information:

This organisation is committed to providing multi-disciplinary Allied Health services in regional, rural and remote Queensland utilising emerging and existing technologies to assist their clients access high quality care. They specialise in working with NDIS participants, but their services are not limited to this area. Capacity building and a person-centred focus relevant to the participant, family, and community are embedded in their model.

Position Description:

Enjoy a diverse caseload working in clinical and community settings, both locally and outreach to rural and remote communities and the opportunity to be supported in your career development within a multidisciplinary team using innovative models of care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering quality Occupational Therapy services across a number of generalist clinical areas within varied cultural contexts in a culturally sensitive manner, and utilising innovative service models to best support the needs of the client
  • Providing comprehensive, evidence-based assessments, treatments, functional capacity assessments and recommendations, and implementation of recommendations as required
  • Developing clinical practice knowledge and expertise, including skill sharing, through active learning within a team and by engaging in professional development activities.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to work sensitively and effectively with First Nations communities
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to function autonomously and as part of a team

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with AHPRA (or eligible for registration)
  • Driver's licence
  • Proof of immunisation - as per position description

Salary Information: 

  • $100,000 per annum
