Are you genuinely excited about ensuring an exceptional customer/donor experience, while also looking after all of the little details?

Bring your donor care/support, customer service or administration background to our growing, ambitious organisation, supporting and empowering others in Australia and internationally.

About the organisation

Hello, we’re Mary MacKillop Today - an international development organisation transforming lives through access to education and the learning of practical life skills.

We’re a caring, positive and energetic team who enjoy a warm, respectful and relaxed yet professional culture as well as flexible, family-friendly working arrangements.

We’re proud of the impact we’re making through our programs in Australia, Timor-Leste, PNG, Peru and Fiji - but we’re not resting on our laurels.

We’ve got big plans for the future - want to join us on this journey?

Inspired by the work of Australia’s first Saint, our programs support people in vulnerable and remote communities, building dignity and a path out of poverty through education, health and financial inclusion.

In the spirit of Mary MacKillop, we support people regardless of faith, ethnicity and gender.

To support our growth plans and help us make an even bigger impact, we’re looking for a dedicated, motivated donor care officer to join our team.

About the opportunity

The Donor Care Officer role is a full-time permanent position. Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, this is a key supporter-facing role which underpins all of our fundraising activity and manages relationships with donors in our growing Regular Giving Program.

As the first point of contact for all donor enquiries, you’ll provide a warm, positive, professional and timely experience. Our donors enable us to do what we do so each and every one is all-important!

Your day to day responsibilities will include relationship management, customer service, processing donations, banking and updating donor information in the ThankQ database. This role also provides wonderful opportunities to grow a budding fundraising career and develop with the Mary MacKillop Today team.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is highly organised and self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail. This is a busy role so you’ll need to be confident in your ability to prioritise tasks and organise your time!

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • at least 2 years’ experience in a similar donor care, donor support or customer service/care role
  • exceptional customer service skills including a warm, professional phone manner
  • knowledge of best practice in donor/customer care and retention
  • a supportive, team focused approach
  • strong data entry skills (and attention to detail!)
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • a commitment to confidentiality and awareness of the principles of the Privacy Act
  • a natural ability to problem solve, work independently and manage your own time
  • advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite)
  • experience working in a relational database/CRM - ThankQ or similar.

What to expect

This role offers an exciting opportunity to delight our existing donors and be a key part of growing our fundraising programs and revenue over time.

You will get to work with our wonderful fundraising team of 10, gaining excellent exposure to regular giving, major gifts, community fundraising and bequests. You’ll also work closely with our database specialist and grow your knowledge of data analytics and data-driven marketing and fundraising.

If you join us, you’ll be part of a professional, caring and enthusiastic team who are genuinely inspired by the spirit of the strong and compassionate woman that was Mary MacKillop.

Our passion for fundraising, education, social justice and international development means you’ll be in good company in the Mary MacKillop Today team - and we hope these are passions you share too!

The salary range for this role is $60-70k + super, depending on experience.

This role is based in our office in North Sydney, with an option to work from home 1-2 days per week.

We’re passionate about our staff and offer generous salary packaging benefits as well as being dedicated to the ongoing development and training of every employee!
