The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre develops and delivers programs and services in response to community need. Presently, the Centre manages 30 funded programs that encompass aspects of aged care, family services, diversity and social isolation.
About You
You will be responsible for organising, managing and directing all administrative operations of the organisation.

About the Role
An exciting new position working across a range of administrative tasks of planning, delegating, coordinating and decision making to heighten the management systems and ensure organisational health of the Centre.
Essential Skills
- Tertiary qualification in human services (Psychology or Social Work) or Business with five years of work experience
- Proven knowledge and ability to work with vulnerable community members
- Proven ability to manage a large administration team across multiple areas including marketing, human resources and IT.
- Experience in managing not-for-profit services and an understanding of government contracts
- An understanding of quality systems and how these are run and administered in an organisation
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to prioritise tasks, meet set deadlines and an attention to detail
- Experience in using and maintaining databases
- Superior human relations and organisational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Current C class driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
- Budget development and oversight experience
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated knowledge of current industry standards in human resource management and not-for-profit sector.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to manage an administration team to achieve excellent outcomes for the organisation.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software with particular experience in marketing.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the philosophies and practices of the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre, with particular emphasis on the application of client empowerment.
- Demonstrated experience in Workplace Health & Safety and EEO practice, including orientation toward equity of access for all community members to services.
- Demonstrated experience in implementation of Robust Governance structures.
Position Details
This position is full-time, working 38 hours per week from 9am to 5pm and paid at SACS Award Level 6.
